A SENATE RESOLUTION TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT TO CALL FOR A REFERENDUM TO AMEND THE STUDENT BODY CONSTITUTION DURING THE SPRING 2025 STUDENT BODY ELECTIONS TO INCREASE THE MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM THRESHOLDS FOR THE NUMBER OF SEATS IN THE STUDENT SENATE

By the North Carolina State University Student Senate that a referendum be placed on the Spring 2025 General Election Ballot, stating:

Student Body Constitution Referendum: The Student Body Constitution grants the

Student Government the authority to represent and advocate for the interests of the

student body at North Carolina State University. Due to the growth in student enrollment

at NC State over the past decade, a revision to the Student Body Constitution is being

proposed to increase the number of Senate seats. The number of Senate seats has not

increased to accurately reflect the student population in over a decade. The amendment

would reflect a change on the currently listed sixty-four (64) to seventy-two (72)

available Senate seats, and would newly reflect a total of seventy-two (72) to eighty (80)

Senate seats. Do you support the proposed amendment to expand the number of Senate

seats in the Student Body Constitution?

As Senate President, I will ensure that Senators are equipped with the skills and knowledge to confidently advocate for NC State students and foster an engaging environment rooted from student feedback."
