SB 55: First Year Delegation Outreach Act

nailabdin

A SENATE BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT TO AMEND THE STANDING RULES‬ OF THE STUDENT SENATE FOR THE PURPOSE OF INSTATING FIRST YEAR‬ DELEGATION OUTREACH EVENT

Statutes currently consider First Year senators‬‭ as delegation members of their‬ respective Colleges for delegation outreach events.

First year concerns are distinct to a first‬‭ year’s experience, such as finding a sense‬ of community and ways to engage within the University.

Delegation outreach events foster a sense‬‭ of connection between NC State‬ University’s Student Senate and students.

Delegation outreach events are a excellent‬‭ avenue for the First Year Senator‬ delegation and the Student Senate to hear and address their constituency's concern.

This legislation ensures the completion of First Year delegation outreach events alongside the other Senate delegations.

"Student Senators hold the power to represent the student voice and concerns to the University. As Senate President, I will ensure that Senators are equipped with the skills and knowledge to confidently advocate for NC State students and foster an engaging environment rooted from student feedback."
