Involvement

In my positions of Student Government, I go above and beyond simply just writing legislations—I prioritize projects to create continuous involvement within the

NC State community.

This research report examines the changes to the UNC System and at NC State University after the May 2024 DEI Repeal by the UNC Board of Governors. The report sought to educate students on the harmful changes and impacts, criticize the UNC System and NC State for overstepping fundamental rights, and provided recommendations to NC State in how the University can uphold these new laws while supporting marginalized students.

Multicultural Week and Multicultural Showcase

I have planned and hosted two consecutive Multicultural Weeks and Showcases as my time as the Diversity, Inclusion, and Outreach Senate Committee Chair. I was driven by the desire to promote the diversity of the student body and increase education amongst students to learn about various cultures. At the 2025 Multicultural Showcase, approximately 200 students attended! This event's longevity will have a lasting impact for the student body.

The 103rd Session Diversity, Inclusion, and Outreach Senate Committee created and distributed a student survey to assess the support students with disabilities receive in accessing proper accommodations from the Disability Resource Office (DRO), at testing centers, and with their Professors. From our findings, we provided recommendations to the DRO. The 104th Session Committee continued on the work to support students with disabilities by voicing student concerns to Faculty Senate members.

College of Sciences Delegation Outreach

Under my leadership as the College of Sciences Delegation Head, the College of Sciences Senators were able to host the most number of Delegation outreach events out of all the Delegations in the 104th Session! We attended first-year College of Sciences introductory courses to present, tabled at Glow Up for Mental Health hosted by Campus health, tabled at the College of Sciences Career Fair, and met with College of Sciences Administration at Thursdays at the Bureau.

'This Week in Senate' Publication

As the Senate Press Secretary of the 103rd Session, I designed and posted consistently 'This Week in Senate', which served to inform the student body about the Senate agenda items that are occurring within the Senate meeting. These posts fostered engagement and transparency of the functioning of the Student Senate, while also recognizing the work of Senators and their legislation.

Senate Meeting

'BINGO'

In an effort to develop Senators into becoming active, confident, and engaged throughout a Senate meeting, I started semesterly 'BINGO ' Senate meetings since the 103rd Session. At these meetings, Senators need to complete a certain number of debate, discussion points, or questions to receive a prize at the end of the Senate meeting. This improved attendance rates for closing role call as compared to the meetings without BINGO! I have seen Senators incredibly eager to hold up motion cards and engage within the Senate meetings.

"Student Senators hold the power to represent the student voice and concerns to the University. As Senate President, I will ensure that Senators are equipped with the skills and knowledge to confidently advocate for NC State students and foster an engaging environment rooted from student feedback."
